I think that we are fortunate today to have such growing diversity in the film industry, and so many people who are willing to give younger unknown artists a chance. We are also incredibly lucky to be able to use social media as a tool.

Interview

French-American Actress Alba O’Neill

By Azad Karimi

The first actress is Florence Lawrence. She is from Canada and has acted in 300 films in Hollywood, USA. The Automobile Thieves was the first movie she acted in 1906.

She dared to appear in front of the camera.

She paved the way for other women artists to play. She was followed by movie stars: Mary Pickford, Beth Davis, Eva Gardner and Catherine Hepburn.

A hundred years after Florence Lawrence, the French-American actress Alba O'Neill is starring in cinema and has a long way to go to add to her experience and brilliance.

There are mythical women in the East, but in the twentieth century, Western women made history with an amazing brilliance that came with a lot of effort.

Bowing and respect to the Western women who appeared, and made life more pleasant for humanity, although they themselves were sacrificed in many cases and did not benefit from their efforts.

I prefer to recommend my readers to read our interview, but before I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to all the actresses in the world and their pioneer, Florence Lawrence.

And I have to thank my dear Alba for accepting my invitation for this interview.

I wish her more success and lucky with her husband.

Thank you!

  1. Please present yourself: Name, education, Civil status and...

.Hello!

My name is Alba O’Neill, I am 29 years old. I am a French-American film actress. I have been married for one year and currently live in the South-West of France.

After going to university for political science, I got my master’s in law in Criminal Science in 2015. After having had many odd jobs, I finally decided to accomplish my lifelong dream of acting in January 2020.

  1. What is your artistic specialty?

.Though I have studied theater acting in the past, I am much more comfortable and specialized in front of a camera. I am also a classically trained singer and I practice hip-hop and afro dancehall as additional artistic activities.

  1. When and how did you become interested in this field of art?

.I became obsessed with acting when The Lion Kingcame out in 1994. I was about 3 years old, living in Japan with my parents, when my mother took me to see it. The cinema was so crowded; she stood at the back of the movie theater with me in her arms for the total duration of the film. We went back to the cinema about 4 times after that to see it.

  1. Who was your motivator?

.I never had a specific motivating force in my life or actor/actress I looked up to. My only motivators now are God and myself.

  1. What was your parent’s reaction ?

.My parents never encouraged me, quite to the contrary. My father has now passed away, and my mother is only just now realizing that this is an actual job that requires a lot of work and sacrifice.

  1. When did you become such a professional artist, Film Actress?

.My father passed away in December 2019. He had made a lot of money throughout his life, but doing a job that he hated. His passing shook me and made me realize even more that life is precious and you cannot spend it doing something that you hate. If I wanted to act, the time was going to be now. And it is.

  1. Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as a Film Actress?

.I am very happy and grateful that I can work as a film actress. I am especially thankful to God for giving me the strength needed in such a tough and competitive business, and to my wonderful husband for his love and support, even though he is not in the industry and it is a complicated business to understand for someone who is not in it.

  1. How do you see the view about art, culture, Cinema?

.I think that we are fortunate today to have such growing diversity in the film industry, and so many people who are willing to give younger unknown artists a chance. We are also incredibly lucky to be able to use social media as a tool.

  1. Can you become one part of the cultural movement for motivation in youth or new generations in your country and so on?

.I certainly hope so. I think my role is to remind people in their 30s that dreams are meant to come true and that it is never too late to start. You need to work hard to turn your dreams into reality, but if you put in the effort and stay faithful, wonderful things will happen for you.

  1. How can you help our world become a better place to live?

.Actors are storytellers. By choosing interesting roles and stories that need to be told, I definitely believe that we can pass on important messages and help people learn about important issues, encourage them to change their lives in positive ways, to heal some of their wounds or even help them find resolution in certain family / social issues.

  1. Have you more words to say or suggest for our readers?

.Yes ! If you have an ambition, you need to write it down, and read it every day. And remember that dreams without work and faith are but fantasies! If you put in the effort and keep the faith, they will come true!
