Interview

Czech Pianist, Teacher & Composer Jakub Metelka

By Azad Karimi

Today marks the 42nd anniversary of the rise to power of radical Shi'a Islamists in Iran. Shi'a, Shia, or Shiite is a part of Islam. Of course, Muslims did not recognize this religion until 1959 because it was considered a heresy. The main problem is in disrespecting Muhamad's successors, Abu Bakr, Omar, and Othman, that Shia does not believe in and openly disrespect them. When they were going on Hajj in Medina, they were doing disrespected behaviors in the tombs of Abu Bakr and Umar, which is next to the tomb of Muhammad. These behaviors and the historical background of the enmity between the Shi’as and the Sunnis took on a different form in the 21st century when governments were formed.

Finally, in the year 1959, the Grand Mufti of Cairo decided to put an end to this enmity, thus declaring that the Shiites are not infidels and are part of Islam. Of course, he announced to Boroujerdi, the first mullah of the Faizieh of Qom, that two parts of the Shi'a Qur'an should be removed because these two parts are fake and he accepted and this made the Shi'as like Muslims. Until now, in Turkey, Shi'as have been called the Beshinci religion or the fifth religion. The Shi’a religion needed to establish its identity, so without destroying its basic foundations tried to seek to advance its Muslim identity and the re-establishment of Israel in 1948 and the Israeli-Arab wars made the Shi'as in Iran think of exploiting this issue.

The Shi'as of Iran were two groups. Mass Marxists(Book readers) and Radical Islamists of the Motalefa(Quran readers) and the third group was the King of Iran and the followers of his doctrine. He sought to create a great Paarsi civilization that would shine in the world and that everyone would respect him and fear his hegemony. He wanted everyone to learn Persian and admire Persian culture and language and rewrite history so that it would be full of praise for the honors of the Persian people and at the same time, everybody should all be Shi'a of the Twelve Imams or be in the shadow of the mercy of the Persian-Shi'a king. The problem started when he wanted to destroy everything in the way of his goal. At that time he made the best use of the Cold War. Because Iran was a neighbor of the Soviet Union. It is true that at that time, the world was bipolar, but now that I look at his interviews, I am more and more convinced that his emphasis on fighting communism in Iran was only for propaganda purposes in the Western world because when he took control of oil and felt the non-need for the West, he turned to China and the Soviet Union.

The king's phobia was the Kurds, he was instilling in the world that the Kurds are deceived and backward people who do not have the ability to grow and develop because they do not have a single language and are rural. Of course, backwardness and lack of development in Iran was not a strange issue. Because when we look at the results of his efforts, we see that he reigned for 37 years for the fanatics to come to power.

Why? Because all those he sent them to Europe and America to study, turned against him and propagandized against him, and eventually became the language of Khomeini and presented him a leader for Iranian people in the free world. Like Akbar Yazdi, Sadegh Qutbzadeh and others ... The Shah(king) of Iran did not establish a mosque for the Sunnis in Tehran, but built a mosque in West Germany and appointed Mohammad Beheshti as its imam and Mohammad Beheshti played an important role in overthrowing the Shah. He was a professional assassin and criminal who killed many. It is interesting to know that Sunnis in Tehran, which has a population of millions, are still without a mosque!

He left and his rule ended on February 10, 1979, but his legacy is war and violence and the domination of fanaticism and cultural poverty and lack of development and ignorance:  Mulla's caste who are ruling on millions in the name of God. one of the mullas said on Iranian television two days ago that they are like a cat on a hot roof so they want to make an atomic bomb.

If these also are bluffs, they could be a way to justify building an atomic bomb in the future.

The mullahs argue that Khamenei issued a fatwa banning the construction of an atomic bomb. Of course, these fatwas are worthless because no one trusts them. These Fatwas are legally worthless, but they are criminally dangerous because forty-two years ago Khomeini issued a fatwa stating that the Kurds are infidels and must be eliminated. I was five years old at the time and I remember what a terrible thing happened. I still remember the flying scenes of war helicopters and their black- smoke rockets. They went to extremes in crime and killed many people. I thank God that I am alive and I am writing these articles. I thank the Norwegian government for helping me and sheltering me to get rid of the hell in Iran. I thank the governments of Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand for allowing the Kurds to seek refuge in their countries. Truly, the helplessness and despair of oppression and discrimination are terrible. That you do not feel safe in your home and you are always waiting for something bad to happen.

The peak of hatred and rejection of the Kurds in Iran is a culture, a cultural institution. This is disgusting to us Kurds, but it does not cause humiliation. Because they aren't more developed, more civilized, more historical, and ahead of Kurds in every way, so we have no reason to be hostile to them, but they have dozens of objective and subjective reasons for hostility and rejection of the Kurds. Unfortunately, lying, flattering, and conspiring for friend and foe is the main part of the culture of these people and looking from top to bottom that this is very catastrophic and tragic because they did not offer anything for the development of culture, prosperity, and solidarity at the national, regional, and global levels. The Shah increased the price of oil and intervened in other countries and became hostile to the Kurds. The regime of the Islamic Republic continued the same way, also and of course, international terrorism is also the doctrine of the Mulla’s regime, but the Shah mosque construction project led to the houses of Islamic terrorism in Europe after 1979.

The legacy of these two systems in Iran in the last 96 years is intolerance, discrimination, and misery for the Kurdish people and Iranians. Proponents of the monarchy argue that Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Shah served the Iranian people because they built railways and roads. They did their job. Because they served their country, but the British and the French did it better in their colonies. Even the United States, with the Truman Four principle, did great service in some countries and this evil regime of the Islamic Republic, which is very sinister, hateful, and backward, has done nothing during all these years except misery and destruction in Kurdistan and the Middle East.

Iranians sleep in graves and along the streets and under the snow, looking for food in the trash, but the regime has used a few kilos of gold for the dome of Khomeini's tomb...one thing that is very unfortunate is the totalitarian thinking of these people. I have seen and heard a lot that even a large part of the opponents of the Islamic Republic, who are refugees in European and American countries, are arguing that this regime should go without destroying Iran's nuclear facilities ...

This is a dangerous idea. Because basically why should Iran have a bomb? They argue that Iran needs to be strong to maintain balance in the region. Which balance? The UAE sent a spacecraft to Mars today ... Israel vaccinated its people and Saudi Arabia and Israel are on their way to peace. I'm surprised by the backward thoughts of most Iranians and I'm really sorry. Iranians can never find a worthy place in the international community with these dark thoughts. They are just going the wrong way, a way they have experienced many times and always failed .... Working with these people is difficult and almost impossible and it is strange that they see the developments in the region and define it upside down for each other... and what I see on their overseas radio and television channels is just disaster. These people see the world from their imagination, not their point of view. Sorry ...

In the following interview I talked to an artist from the Czech Republic. Seventy years ago, one of his compatriots married a Kurdish political leader named Dr. AbduRahman Ghasemlou and her name is Helen Korlich. She has written a book under title Love Against All Reason. She is known among the Kurds as Khoshka Nasrin or The sister Nasrin. She is the sister of the people of Kurdistan. She had a turbulent life but accepted everyone out of love for her husband.

Czech is an ancient country in Eastern Europe and the birthplace of the great author Kafka and Prague has a magnificent architecture that I wish to see one day.

I have the best wishes for my dear friend Jakub. He has published a book on music called Moderne Klavieretuden.

Friendship with him makes me proud and happy, and I am glad to have this blessing.
