Interview

French Actor Geoffrey Couët

By Azad Karimi

Years ago I read a book by Stella Adler, an American artist. She was one of the most important masters of acting. The name of this book was "Acting technique".

... Adler trained actors' sensory imagination to help make the characters' experiences more vivid. She believed that mastery of the physical and vocal aspects of acting was necessary for the actor to command the stage, and that all body language should be carefully crafted and voices need to be clear and expressive...Wikipedia

She attended Konstantin Stanislavski's classes in Paris and was greatly influenced by him.

Stanislavski was one of the Russian theorists who valued the actor, and his theories, known as the Stanislavski method, revolutionized the art of acting.

Stanislavski advised actors to use their imagination more to present and perform acting than memory.

and he argued that the actor would go into a stereotype if immersed in a mold, so he turned to a method of acting that was close to fluid style to give the actor more creativity.

One thing Stanislavski emphasized was the actor's refraining from talking about herself.

In the text of the interview, Geoffry says that the immortality of the plays of the great actors is a secret and mysterious subject that should not be told.

This sentence, frankly, reminded me of Stanislawski, and I thought this introduction would not be interesting without paying homage to Stella Adler, a professor of an acting theorist who is a great student of Stanislavski.

I hope Geoffrey is successful and progresses in his work. I wish him happiness.

Thank you!
