I think that music culture is, that people can connect with a music genre and creating a bond with other people that like the same music, and so you get cultures in different music with there unique styles in thinking, clothing, feelings and people can indentify their self in the music, and so you get different cultures in music.

Interview

Dutch Musician El Bandito

By Azad Karimi

Sorry if there was a slight delay in publishing this interview. The friends of the Qelem website were reorganizing the website and so we had to wait for the website to be reorganized. Before entering into the main topic of my introduction, I would like to hear some strange news about the Ukraine war.

I read in the news this morning that the Putin government has proposed to the Security Council to help the Ukrainian people in humanitarian affairs!

Please do not be upset that sometimes I use Kurdish and Persian proverbs. I do not intend to show off, but there are some proverbs that should use to interpret issues. Rest assured, if I knew the proverbs of other nations, I would use them as well.

Anyway, reading this news, I remembered my mother who said at these times: He is like Simorgh, that eats my baby and mourns with me!

But the more interesting thing is that the Chinese government has voted in favor of this resolution!

Now, these Iranians have a proverb for this situation which says: They asked the fox who is your witness? The fox answered: my tail!

China, which has chained Tibetan Buddhists for many years, genocide thousands of Uyghur Muslims, captured Hong Kong people, and planned to invade Taiwan, expresses its kindness to the Ukrainian people together with the aggressor Russian government! How generous!

Æsj! How rude! how hypocritical! and how shameless!

After all, we are at a crucial and decisive period historical juncture and we must be sure that all our appropriate, rational, and decisive actions against the aggressors and death dealers will bring lasting peace to the world.

Freedom is the guarantor of peace. If we are not free, our thoughts will turn to the paths that provide freedom, and sometimes these paths will lead to war and violence. Of course, we must understand that when someone comes and deprives us of our freedom, it leads us to a psychological war ... so we must know that the war for freedom is a matter depending on conscience and emotion. Because a healthy person loves freedom because it is under the protection of freedom that man feels safe and builds the world. Incidentally, one of the songs of my good friend El Bandito is about Freedom.

You will have a lot of fun if you take the time to listen to the songs of this young Dutch artist. Because his songs, in addition to having emotional foundations, have a kind of formalist logic and rationality.

So I would like to say nothing more and I wish success and happiness to the dear El Bandito.

Thank you!

-Please present yourself: (Name, education, Civil status, and...)

.I am Benito Meeuwse also known as El Bandito I am 30 years old, born and living in The Netherlands

?-What is your artistic specialize

.I am a producer and multi-instrumentalist My main instrument is the Upright Bass

?-When and how did you become interested in this field of art

.Since I was a child I was always obsessed with listing to different styles of music, I started with beatboxing and was pretty good at it. They called me the walking Jukebox hahaha. But it was at a late age of 20 years old when I discovered that I want to make a living in music. I got inspired at an electronic music festival And decided to become a Dj/producer. After a long time, I accepted that my music was really bad, and had to make a change. So I decided to study and play multiple instruments and genres. Now 10 years later I am playing in multiple great bands as a Bass player and writing my own songs.

?-Who was your motivator

.I have a lot of Motivators and musicians that inspire me. A great example is Bob Marley I am a big fan of his music. And I got a lot of inspiration from him that I can use when I am making Reggae songs. I also get a lot of inspiration from Chet Baker the Jazz trumpet player. Studying His beautiful melodies and solo’s helped me a lot to understand soloing in Jazz. And of course, my great hero Ray brown the master of the double bass is a massive influence on me and I studied a lot of his great music.

?What was your parent’s reaction

.My parents always have been supportive of my choice to want to become a musician.

?When started you such as a professional musician

.I hope one day I can call myself a professional musician. It is still a long road and there is a lot to learn. But the goal is to make a full-time living as a musician. At this moment it is only on the weekends.

I saw in your profile that you are a Musician. Please explain your activities to the readers of the interview!

.At this moment I am playing as a bass player in a Gypsy Jazz band called Vincent Chambon Gipsy Unit. And since recently playin also ass a Bass player in a new band called: Swingroove. The genres that we play are Jazz, funk, and Latin. When I got some time left I am working on my new album

? Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as a musician

.Yes I am very happy, I am blessed that I get to play with such inspiring musicians and bandmates. Every rehearsal or gig I am learning and growing. And I am very thankful for this

? What is music culture? What is music logic

.I think that music culture is, that people can connect with a music genre and create a bond with other people that like the same music, and so you get cultures in different music with their unique styles in thinking, clothing, feelings, and people can identify their self in the music, and so you get different cultures in music

? Why does some melody become immortal

.The Melody is the most important part of a musical piece. And in the combination with the right harmonics, and easy to understand for everybody then some melodies can become catchy and immortal. Melody is everything

?How do you see music, art, and culture from your perspective

.I mean your prediction for the future of music! That’s a great question! I hope for more jazz and R&B vibes, with less digital productions and more real acoustic instruments. But music is art, it is always changing and nobody knows where it is going in the future. I guess even more digital music

12. Can you become one part of the cultural movement for motivation in youth or new generation in your country and so then?

.I hope one day to motivate and inspire the future youth, so they are interested in starting playing music, especially the upright bass because it is in my opinion an instrument that can become extinct. People find it far easier to play the electric bass or create digital music. Nothing wrong with that. But nothing beats the beautiful deep 3D sound of an Upright Bass

?How can you help our world become a better place to live

.Changing the world begins with yourself. I can only try to be the best version of myself And try to be as positive as possible and humble to people.

? Have you more words to say or suggest for our readers

.Yes! people explore your creativity I believe everybody has a creative talent. Maybe it is music or art, or dancing, painting, drawing, writing. Everybody has a talent! And nothing is impossible if you work hard for it! Some links where you can find my music:
