Interview

British-Italian Singer Angela Tursi

By Azad Karimi

Describing her latest musical works, the beautiful and artist Angela Torsi says: This record wants to be a "place-not place" in which to meditate, breathe, evolve. A journey in constant evolution...

Take a look at her! It is as if she is a student of the school of the rebellious mystics of old Kurdistan ... she like Geilani, Naqshbandi, Malaaye Djziri, Mawlawi Taawagozi argues and talks about the point of connection to absolute existence... "place-not place"...

Basically, creation was accompanied by sound ... In the  Kurdish mystical culture, the instruments of Tamura, Zurrna, Shmshall, and Daf are sacred and have a mystical character. That is, up to the stage of Haamsaa, they are excellent and high. Haamsaa means neighbor, where the elects are in that place and are very close to God the Creator of the whole.

I do not like to write more because the rhythm of our interview will be broken and I prefer this not to happen.

Please read the interesting answers of this lady artist and enjoy it.

I wish dear Angela all the best, success and happiness.

Thank you!

1- Please present yourself: Name, education, Civil status and...

.Hi , I’m Angela Tursi. I’m an Italian musician, pianist and singer based in London.

2-What is your artistic speciality?

.I’m a pianist and singer. In 2018 I started to compose music and I published my first album “Blue paintings” about the connection between color blue and music. Few weeks ago published my second album “Journey”.

3- When and how did you become interested in these fields of art?

.Since I was a child! I remembered I was about 3 or 4 year old and I wanted to be a singer. Then I had some piano lessons and my journey in music started.

4- Who was your motivator?

At the beginnin just myself but in the school I met some music teachers that pushed me to trust more in music because I was on the right way.

5- What was your parent’s reaction?

They didn’t want me to be musician but at the end they supported my decision.

6- When did you become such a professional Singer?

.Since I was a child, I studied hard and in 2018 I moved to London thanks to a scholarship. Since that moment I took part to same big production around Europe. I performed at Casa de Musica in Porto, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Royal Court Theatre in London, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Casa del Jazz in Rome; and I sang for Matthew Herbert, the Brexit Big Band and for the Hugh Jackman London tour. I think in London I started my professional life.

7- Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as an Artist/ Singer?

.I’m really thankful to my life and all the experiences I have done. I did so many sacrifice but at the end I lived my dream!

8-Congratulation to you because of your new album. Can you tell us about that?

'Journey' is my second musical project in sponsored by Blue Spiral Records. It is a collection of compositions for solo piano of a minimalist genre. Each composition is a picture, a snapshot, a description of a moment of my life for the past two years. This album is the description of a journey, a moment of transition, a change, not only physically, but also introspectively. Each composition tells of encounters, losses, feelings, but above all it investigates that mystical and spiritual part linked to music. This record wants to be a "place-not place" in which to meditate, breathe, evolve. A journey in constant evolution.

9- How do you see the view about art, music, singing and culture? What is your prediction for the future of art, song and culture?

10- Can you become one part of the cultural movement for motivation in youth or new generations in your country and so on?

.I would love. Above all for women. We need to support each other and remember to follow our dream! We need to dream! It takes time and hard work but at the end things happened.

11- How can you help our world become a better place to live? .Supporting and sharing imporant message in music. I have some projects on my mind that I would love to realized to encourage people to believe their dreams!
