War is a nightmare because it brings destruction and misery. The Balkans in Europe, like the Middle East, have endured many tensions and conflicts, unfortunately!... But Balkans has risen again and rebuilt himself and started the process of life again.
My dear friend Goran has had pure and excellent experiences in her life, such as serving in the army through the administration of the Art and Psychotherapy Department of the Military Academy and the founder of the Brut Belgrade Academy of Arts.
These experiences have been through his involvement in the art of painting. Of course, he has revolutionary views on art and considers the academic type to be contrary to the nature of art.
I remembered a poem by Swaara Ilkhanizadah, a contemporary poet of Kurdistan, who says:
Who are you, lying people? O people full of fuss, living in the city of controversy and smoke! tell me, what are you doing? You! the worm of the book!

1- Please present yourself (Name, education, Civil status and...)
.I am Goran Stojčetović. I am engaged in deep associative arts that I find in the subconscious and spontaneous expressions through drawing, painting, photography, video, performance, and theater.
In recent years, I have devoted myself to socially engaged actions through which I reexamine psycho-visual contents of individuals and groups of people I meet while residing in numerous environments and circumstances.
Since February 2015, I lead the Art Brut Studio VMA at the Psychiatric Clinic of the Military Medical Academy’s day hospital in Belgrade where, aside from leading drawing workshops, I also work on the theoretic research of the relationship between art and psychology. I am a founder and president of the Art Brut Serbia Association. I hold a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Arts Priština. I am employed as a Scenic Designer at the National Theatre Priština in Gračanica.
2- What is your artistic specialize?
.I mostly deal with drawing and its performative possibility.
3- When and how did you become interested in this field of art?
.I have been drawing for over 20 years. The first discovery of an in-depth approach to drawing was in 1997 when I was surrounded by the pre-war situation in Kosovo and had problems at the Faculty of Arts in Pristina, where I studied painting.
4- Who was your motivator?
. Of the artists, I was most fascinated by Paul Klee and later by Arnulf Rainer. Of course, there were many more artists, but I single out these two as extremes in my artistic search.
5- What was your parent’s reaction?
.My parents have always been supportive of me, although it was certainly difficult for them sometimes to understand why I deal with the dark sides of the psyche.
6- When started you such as a professional Artist-Painter?
.I consider the period I mentioned in the previous question to be my beginning. So, since 1997, I’ve been doing the in-depth drawing. Depth drawing is my term that I defined by drawing a parallel with the depth psychology of Carl Gustav Jung.
7- Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as an artist?
.Yes, without art I would not be able to live. Luckily, art is my job.
8- How you see the view for art, painting and future of culture?
.I think that art is the only human creation that enlightens and changes social systems. It is indestructible and springs from the instinct for the meaning of life. Academic art is the complete opposite of the essence of art.
9-Why do some paintings become immortal?
.Precisely because they speak of the truth and of a tremendous commitment to the truth. Such dedication creates both skill and technique, and that is how some masterpieces are created.
10- Can you become one part of the artistic-cultural movement for motivation in youth or new generation in your country and so than?
.I am already part of such a mission in my country. The Art Brut Serbia Association, which I founded, is a great social platform for all people who express themselves artistically, regardless of the system. This has a very fruitful effect on young people because they have different angles of experiencing the world and man.
11- How can you help our world become a better place to live?
.I have been doing free art workshops for several years now and several hundred people have gone through that work. I received positive reactions from many in the sense that I helped them change some attitudes and become freer and more flexible people. It is the only way, direct work, without pamphlets.
12- Have you more word to say or suggestion for our readers?
.People should doubt all the concepts they have inherited and start new experiences more freely, without fear because if anything was good and constructive, there would not be so much destruction and wars. A new experience of love must be worked on.
