Interview

Polish Cartoonist

Izabela Kowalska-Wieczorek

By Azad Karimi

Poland in my childhood was active in the feild of Animation. I remember that Rexio and Bolek i Lolek wyruszaja w swiat ,or Bolek and Lolek were my lovely favorite cartoons beside Sindbad from Japan, Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales , Deputy Dawg from USA.

But they were animation cartoon. I should say about painting cartoon. I had many books in cartoon field for example TinTin and Milo, Sindbad and Pinocchio.
These creative drawings activate the child's brain by strengthening the power of the mind and imagination to create fantasy.

What is fantasy? A mental narrative of a story created in the mind without the intervention of external factors. with Using past experiences whose effects have been remembered.
This can be a great help in creating a fictional story in the mind of the creator of a work of art.

It cannot be said that I create a work of art, and this is a heavenly inspiration Without interfering with my previous experiences in the material world.

Our dreams and inspirations are based on material experiences. Because we mean them to understand, discover and make sense of the invisible parts of this world with the material tools.

Art is this tool ... and Izabela knows how to use the art such as a tool for showing and meaning the invisible part of life and existence.

Izabela my dear friend is busy...I know...She is very busy, she is solved in her art. When you see her artistic works you believe my claim! She is a tree and the leaves are her fantasies and the fruits are her works of art. There is a spirit of life in her. She is a heavenly gift because her art is excellent and humanistic. And whatever is humanistic is inevitably a heavenly gift.

I wish Isabela more success, happiness and long life with her loved ones and family.

Thank you!

2-what is your artistic specialize?

.I’m an illustrator and cartoonist.

3- When and how did you become interested in this field of art?

.Ever since I can remember, I wanted to be an illustrator. I was born "with pencil in my hand". My parents were graphic designers so I grow up between stacks of papers and art tools. I loved to "correct" illustrations in books and I made my own drawings for fairy tales. To protect the home library, my parents provided a large blackboard and colored chalk. I became interested in satirical drawing much later.

4- Who was your motivator?

.As a child, I loved the illustrations of Jan Marcin Szancer , Jan Grabiański and Jean Effel (I have never "corrected" these). During my studies I was delighted with Otto Anton Reisinger's cartoons. Thanks to this, when, after 30 years of illustrating, I wanted to test myself in a different field of art, I chose satirical drawing.

5- What was your parent’s reaction?

.My parents never imposed anything on me, but they always supported me in my choices.

6- When you started as a professional artist?

.After winning the competition for illustrations in 1983, I started my adventure with books for children. In 2013 I discovered my new passion, I became a cartoonist.

7- Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as an artist?

Art is my love. I can't imagine my life without it.

8- How do you see the view?

.Painting and drawing is an opportunity to create your own world. It's great to be able to share this created reality with others. Thanks to cartoons, I have a chance to take part in the discussion without words and get to know the approach to the subject of various artists. It is extremely interesting and addictive.

9- Can you become one part of the artistic movement for motivation in

youth or new generations in your country and so on?

.Hope it might be possible.

10- How can you help our world become a better place to live?

.Cartoonists have great opportunities to reach the widest possible audience around the world. Using commonly known symbols and pictograms, they can criticize and oppose evil, injustice, destruction, but also help by paying attention to what is important. Saving the world is our mission.

11- Have you more words to say or a suggestion for our readers?
Motto accompanying my family for many generations: "You want to be happy, count on yourself"
Thank you.... I am grateful for the opportunity to be featured on your website, dear Azad.
