I still see myself as a happy amateur. But one fine day, my goal is to be able to make a living from art. Until that happens, all interested parties can follow me and my art through Facebook and Instagram at Galleri Aasbø.

Interview Norwegian Painter

Odd  Sverre Aasbø

By Azad Karimi

Greetings to the children of Iliad and Odyssey! Hello- Full respect to Ukrainian heroes! Long live the leader of Ukraine ... May God grant victory and blessings to Ukraine and its brave people. Amen!

I present a part of a story that I wrote when I lived in Iran here to all those who showed their spirit of bravery and freedom by sympathizing with the people of Ukraine. All those who love and support the Ukrainian people are the children of freedom, dignity, and justice. Long live the freedom-fighters of the world!

Mama got up and stood up. She had forgotten hunger. She sorted for Lala's hair. She made her up. She began to whisper a poem her father had taught her. Her father had served as a soldier in the Gutian (An ancient civilization in Kurdistan) government army many years ago. Her father sang a military anthem and sometimes sang parts of it:

Who loves his/her homeland

He-She is pure and respectful like a soldier

I am a soldier and my body

The shroud is the height of

the trees, stones, and soil of my land

I'm proud of my eyes

Because on the horizon

I see my freedom

If you think so

You are the sun and the moon and the stars and the sky!

But I am human and I have the ability

If I do not have the sky and the stars and the sun and the moon

At my home by imagination

to make the sky, the stars, the sun,

and the moon for myself!

That dream of mine at home

Is more real than the reality of your existence!

So I have defeated you

Because you can not chain my imagination!

The whole being and inside and the feeling of Mama was full of happiness and felicity. Happiness: because she has the memories and felicity: because she has joy, the memories, and history... She has poetry, She has soldiers, She has military anthems. Her military anthem speaks about The Home. So the horizon is the house of the soldier. So she is a soldier because she loves her homeland. Because she has a dream. The dream of freedom and home ...

What you read is related to a daily note that I posted on Facebook.

As you all know, six days ago the Kremlin Dracula's army invaded Ukraine under the pretext of expanding Russian territory. Meanwhile, the people of Russia and the people of the world stand by the people of Ukraine. The useless and deadly dreams of the mad Kremlin dictator have brought the world to the brink of extinction.

Anyway, I wrote and published this note and here I am publishing and adding that I dedicate the introduction of this interview to the memory of the great Ukrainian poet Vasyl Symonenko, whose famous poem: To a Kurdish brother (Kurds'komu bratovi - Курдському братові ) turns hand in hand in Iranian Kurdistan these days.

I wish good luck and health to my dear friend and artist Odd  Sverre Aasbø.

Thank You!

                                                 ............................................................

1- Please present yourself (Name, education, Civil status and...)

.My name is Odd Sverre Aasbø. My daily work is as a senior advisor for Delta, but my art career is taking up more and more space. I work as an artist even though I have any kind of art education. I am self-made. Therefore I have too much respect for artists to call myself an artist, but my goal is to one day be able to call myself that. I was born and raised in Arendal. Now I live in Risør and work in Oslo. And sell paintings throughout Norway and Scandinavia. I am married to a wonderful wife and have 2 grown children, and 2 lovely grandchildren, which I adore! I would really say that I am reasonably happy with my life.

2- What is your artistic specialize?

.I am a painter. I paint different styles, but in the last couple of years I have specialized in the style of «Pop-art».Simply because I think it's the most fun style to paint, and through «pop-art», you can break the rules and let everyday life into the art. The «Pop-art» came as a breath of fresh air after the usual art, which was often very elitist and characterized by strict rules.

3- When and how did you become interested in this fields of art?

.I've always been interested in art. Ever since I was a child I have been drawing, but I started painting 2.5 years ago. Art has always touched me in a special way that is hard to explain. Through art, I could see reality and fantasy blending. Art creates a form of positive intoxication I have become more and more addicted to.

4- Who was your motivator?

. There are many different techniques that inspire me. Which has probably contributed to my style perhaps being at an intersection between several different directions. Should I highlight some names that have especially inspired me, it is first and foremost Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufmann, and Roy Liechtenstein, but also Norwegian artists such as Kenneth Blom and Pushwagner have contributed. Although my pictures may give a slightly different expression, I must also mention legends like Munch, Picasso, and Salvador Dalí who are all artists I have taken a lot of inspiration from. All in all, it's about not taking yourself so seriously. Play and have fun. That's what art should be about.

5- What was your parent’s reaction?

.Unfortunately both my parents are dead, so neither of them ever got to experience seeing my paintings.

6-Please tell us when started you such as a professional painter?

. I still see myself as a happy amateur. But one fine day, my goal is to be able to make a living from art. Until that happens, all interested parties can follow me and my art through Facebook and Instagram at Galleri Aasbø.

7-Tell us Please: Do you see a special connect between Painting and culture?

. All kinds of art are connected. Music, art, and culture are essential for people and our society. It feeds both our soul and mind. Personally, I use all forms of music, film, or visual art as inspiration. Therefore, you will find a lot of music in my paintings.

8- Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as a painter?

.I am extremely grateful that I have had the opportunity to follow my dreams and create a new career that will hopefully end with me being seen as an artist.

9- Why do some Painting become immortal?

.Simply because they were created by wonderful creative genius artists, who managed to convey their innermost thoughts.

10-Can you explain about painting logice?

.It's about the least possible logic and the most possible feeling. Pablo Picasso once said: «I paint things the way I think of them, not the way I see them…»

11- I would like to ask you about painting in our life. Can you tell us about that?

.As I see it, Art is the only, still unused function that originates from a deep, historical past, but which returns to the future, as the whole of the self-conscious human being.

12- How do you see the view for art, painting, the future of culture?

.I am firmly convinced that art will become even more important in the time to come. In a time of increasing unrest and division, art will be able to contribute to more peace.

13- Can you become one part of the artistic-cultural movement for motivation in youth or new generation in your country and so than?

.I would love to become a part of the cultural movement and help, motivate and inspire the next generation.

14- How can you help our world become a better place to live?

.The only thing I can do is paint and continue doing my work and try to do my best. For the world to be a better place to live in, we all have to be kind to one another, and praise love, peace, and compassion. And not least convince everyone that art can make a difference. I am absolutely convinced that people who sincerely love art do not wage war!

15- Have you more word to say or suggestion for our readers?

. Do not be afraid to be curious, play, and challenge the established. life does not have to be that serious.
